Oligarchs Dine at Nello, Primarily

Not one, but two high profile Russian oligarchs, Mikhail Prokhorov and Roman Abramovich, dined at Nello Restaurant in New York City in the last week. Combined, they spent over $71,000 on two meals.

Mikhail Prokhorov, who was in New York for negotiations over his $200 million purchase of the New Jersey Nets, was served a $19,000 dinner at Nello. One week later, Roman Abramovich, who owns Chelsea Soccer club, dined at the same Upper East Side restaurant and spent $52,000 on a lunch. A tip to Nello owners: yet another oligarch and former Russia's richest man Oleg Deripaska was in town recently and is coming back again soon (FBI is ok with that.) Why not invite him for lunch and reign as the only restaurant outside of Russia to feed all of the former and current number-ones of the Russian Forbes list.

And a word of caution for the Upper East Siders: Russians like to buy real estate near their favorite restaurants, so you may expect a real estate boom on the corner of Madison Avenue and 63rd Street.
