Today, during his trip to California, Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev visited Twitter headquarters and opened his Twitter account.

The president’s first tweet reads: “Hello all, I am Twitter, and this is my first post.” Five minutes following his first tweet, Russian president posted a photo from his hotel (no doubt, taken with the iPhone 4 which he received from Steve Jobs). In the first three hours, Dmitry Medvedev received over 2500 followers.
