A dacha is a summerhouse, but that makes it sound posh. It isn't. Come every summer, Russians migrate in massive numbers to dachas big and small. There, in Chekhovian mansions and lopsided hovels, makeup comes off, hands get dirty, and urban dwellers find themselves dabbling in light farming.
